NIGHTMARES AT HIGHWAY MOTORS
At Highway Motors Dublin we make sure your worst nightmares realise
As I’m writing this I’m still very upset with the level of service we received to date.
Below is a write up on the turn of events:
Jay promised us that we would receive our cars the Wednesday after we paid the deposit which was 29 August 2019, this never happened we received our cars one and two weeks late respectively.
This cost us a massive amount of additional money as well as being a great deal of trouble to organise rental cars whilst having just started a new work and having to take time off to sort it all out.He promised that he would have the cars valeted and serviced which would include sorting out the issues I specifically told him about before we received the cars.
He did none of this, my aircon still didn’t work, the car still had the clacking noise, the car wasn’t serviced, I know this as I took it for a service on the 2nd of October 2019 and was informed by the mechanic after having had my doubts seeing the pitch black oil and the filters not being replaced.
He was very confrontational throughout the whole process of us enquiring about our cars even to the point where he made my wife out to be a liar when she told him she wasn’t at the office when he eventually delivered her car and she wasn’t in the office, which he delivered after the time he had given and she told him she would be in training.
Jay made us drive all the way to Dublin and then wasn’t available, I know there was an accident, but at least have the decency to give me a call, he made me lose a whole day, how would he feel if someone did that to him, time off is precious and one needs to respect other’s time.
Then he told me that if I came through the next weekend you would definitely have it sorted. I was on my way to Dublin but had to stop at the closest garage because of the noise from the aircon compressor if I had not stopped I would have driven all the way to Dublin before he would have told me that he wouldn’t be able to fix the car, seriously?
He said that he would send the service books with my wife’s car and even had the cheek to tell me on the day that it was in the car when it wasn’t?
I have been chasing him for almost a month now to sort out the issues with my car and he just comes back with excuse on excuse on excuse, still in his confrontational way as if I’ve done something wrong, at what point does he accept that he have screwed up?
He would have phoned me back about 20 times which never happened.
I had to take in my vehicle to Volkswagen because my wife and my safety was in danger with driving the car in the condition that it was. The mechanic straight up told me that the car was in bad shape the serious issues were:
•Brakes were almost done (and he specifically said that when he services the car he would also replace the brakes if they were near their end),
•Electronic steering lock was busted,
•Wishbones were done,
•Service was never done.
Other issues that still need to be sorted which I can’t do as I don’t have the funds:
•Battery,
•Aircon compressor,
•Boot lifts,
•DSG service,
•Shocks are leaking,
•Aircon on Renault.
I haven’t even listed all the issues with the service we received so far as it just upsets me more and more as I’m typing this.
Jay has really made our moving to Ireland experience terrible.
I would strongly advise you not to do business with Highway Motors.
